Annual tax preparation is what we were founded on, a year-round concierge service is who we have become. Aquaila began her journey in the financial world over 20 years ago. In 1992, Aquaila along with her mom, Gail A. Barnes CPA, founded Barnes Financial Services (BFS) as a family-operated practice based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Years later in 2000, Aquaila relocated to New York City deciding to establish an east coast presence of the practice. Being both left and right-brained, Aquaila saw an opportunity to merge her skill with numbers with her love and passion for the arts. With this approach, the New York office expanded significantly with a growing clientele of actors, writers, designers, consultants, educators, production companies, health practitioners and many more professions, all drawn to a more personalized type of service. Excited to build on the growing success, we forged a new iteration of the business -- Barnes Financial Concierge! In 2018, we began the shift from tax prep only to the Financial Concierge Service, a year-round service that partners with clients to meet their compliance needs and support their financial goals.

Aquaila Barnes is an Enrolled Agent (EA) licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. She is also a Financial Advisor holding Investment (Series 6 and 63) and Life Insurance Licenses in several states within the U.S. Her niche as a Tax Accountant supports creatives & entrepreneurs by bringing a holistic approach to tax planning, small business consultation, and investment planning. She is also a writer and poet, with love for the theater and all things artistic.
Michelle Dinglasan
Operations Manager
Michelle is from Chicago, Illinois, born in the Philippines. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and a master’s degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Financial Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She spent 17 years working in higher education doing HR and financial management before joining Barnes Financial Concierge in March 2022.In her free time she enjoys exploring New Jersey with her husband and daughter and having brunch. She also enjoys yoga, running, hiking, traveling, and cooking.
Amber Thatcher
Accounting Assistant
From a small Ohio town comes Amber who has an immense amount of experience in medical, sales and business. Holding a business management degree, and certificates in tax preparation and business information technology she is well-equipped to continue to support the service of the concierge clients. Her goal is to continue to work hard for BFC clients as well as take part in the continuous growth of the company.

Jyoti Raj Adhikari
Certified Public Accountant
Jyoti Raj Adhikari is a licensed CPA. He is also an MBA from MUI with specialization in Lean Accounting and Management. Jyoti has planned, prepared and filed more than 10000 tax returns and successfully resolved long pending numerous complex tax matters with IRS. Jyoti also holds audit license in the state of Iowa. He is an expert in business, partnership, individual and non-profit tax and accounting. He is a good communicator and loves to play bamboo flute to connect with his higher self.
Sharon Washington
Marketing Manager
Sharon is a PNW native, from the great and rainy Washington State. She is a 2019 graduate of Florida A&M University where she studied broadcast journalism. Soon after graduating Sharon traveled the country chasing news stories in underrepresented communities. With a drive to be a voice for the voiceless she went on to pursue a career in television where she worked in production management for Warner Bros. Studio. Her years in corporate television increased her desire to help people. As the marketing manager for BFC, she strives to communicate the company's embodiment of the holistic aspect of telling your financial story.
